For those who don't have the community friended, [livejournal.com profile] mcsmooch is currently open for business, which means lots of delicious John/Rodney fic and other art posted there over the next two weeks.

I wrote a little ficlet first thing this morning:
Sink or Swim, John/Rodney, PG, 820 words.
wesleysgirl: (Default)
So I wrote a little comment ficlet for [livejournal.com profile] beadattitude set in the "On Life and Living" 'verse, and I thought I should post it here before I totally lose track of it. (It would not be the first time, LOL.)

John/Rodney, 452 words, PGish.

So, I participated in this year's [livejournal.com profile] mcshep_match, writing for the Home Team. And we won! (By the tiniest of tiny margins.) I am actually shocked, because while I haven't yet read anywhere near all the stories, the ones that I did read, regardless of team, were all very, very good. Many thanks to all the organizers of the match, to the Home Team's captain, [livejournal.com profile] thegrrrl2002, for persuading me to participate, to everyone on my team for their support and listening to me babble and answering my questions, and to everyone on the Away team for making this such an incredible challenge!

Oh, and here is the Master List for the 2008 McShep Match!

Team: Home
Prompt: Pound of flesh
Pairing(s): McKay/Sheppard
Rating: NC-17
Warnings: None
Word Count: 9450
Summary: It's not that John doesn't know how obsessed Rodney can get when he's really focused on something -- he does. What he hadn't known was that Rodney was holding onto this all this time, and it's kind of disturbing to find out something new about Rodney now. Especially something like this.
Author's notes: Many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] mmmchelle, [livejournal.com profile] sgamadison and [livejournal.com profile] moonlettuce for all their very valuable help!

Disclaimer: They will never be mine, more's the pity.

For [livejournal.com profile] soft_princess. Many, many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] voraciouslurker for the thoughtful, helpful beta!

Also, [livejournal.com profile] bethynyc wrote a Simon Tam/John Sheppard crossover for me and you should read that, too!

This was the only bit of fic that came from my asking for prompts/ideas several days ago. It's so short I'm not even putting it behind a cut. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] amaka for the suggestion. :-)

"We're getting rid of the cat," Rodney announced.

"Okay," John said; not only was he easy, but he didn't actually like the cat all that much. It had a tendency to lurk under the sofa and then claw his ankle as he walked by.

"It vomited on my pillow."

John marked his place in the article he was reading with a finger and looked up at Rodney, who was standing in the doorway with his arms crossed over his chest. "That's pretty disgusting."

"You have no idea," Rodney said, like John had never seen cat puke before.

"So get rid of him. I'm sure there must be dozens of families adopting cats from that shelter across town. Maybe he could be, you know, an outdoor cat. He can do all his puking in the great outdoors."

Rodney nodded. "Yes! Yes, good point. And he'd probably love all that fresh air, hunting birds..." He trailed off as the cat appeared and wound its way around his ankles. "Go away."

The cat blinked up at him and made a little chirruping sound, then butted its head against Rodney's leg.

"Fine," Rodney said, throwing his hands up. "Fine, you can stay. But the next time you throw up on the bed, that's it."

I wrote comment!fic yesterday! It's just smut. No redeeming value whatsoever. I promise. Just 729 words of slightly kinky, slightly confusing fic.

I wrote a little fic for the [livejournal.com profile] beckettsheppard community challenge -- it's here:

Leaves of Three.

John gets the Pegasus version of poison ivy. On his hands. Carson has to help him. In more ways than one. Yeah, it's an excuse for porn -- sue me.
