Firefly canon?

Do we know if the Firefly characters (not just the crew of Serenity, but the whole 'verse) celebrate Christmas or some other winter holiday? I know they seem to celebrate birthdays...

I was thinking about that, as well, with the commentary going on in my head. That really makes me want to know how the rabbinate would negotiate sunrise/sundown in space...

It boggles the mind, but they could establish an artificial sunrise/sunset on the ships themselves. For holidays, they'd either have to adapt holidays specifically to new planetary systems or somehow have an adaptable perpetual calendar so they'd know what's going on when on Earth.

Makes you wonder how the Jews in Dune (second trilogy) kept their faith as well.
