...and I just don't feel like I accomplished anything.

Which is a totally inaccurate feeling that doesn't have much to do with reality, but it's still there, you know?

I mean, I sent my son off to school with a lunch and a snack and his homework. I ate a proper breakfast (toast) and lunch (macaroni and cheese). I baked chocolate chip cookies (but didn't eat any, I didn't really want them, I just wanted to bake). I went to the grocery store and did a week's worth of grocery shopping. I wrote 1000 words. I medicated the cat, and fed both of them, twice. I met the boy getting off the bus. I supervised his doing of homework, and provided a snack. I made dinner. I took a shower. I spent 28 minutes on the phone with my mother.

And yet, I feel like I did nothing.

I'd say what you need is a drink and an orgasm. Not necessarily in that order. *nods*

LOL

I admit I might be projecting. Been waiting for hours for hubby to come home only to have him say, "I have a 50 page paper to beta. Promised to have it done tonight." *headdesk*

I have needs! Needs that are not being taken care of! I'd return him and ask for a refund but it might be awkward explaining to his mother why I want my money back. *g*

I've told my mom-in-law several times that I want to return my spouse, but MIL always says the warranty has expired and I'm stuck with her.

I'm pretty sure I bought the extended warranty. But I can't find the paperwork...

Haha, mine said the exact same thing when I complained about her son's once smooth chest and back suddenly starting to sprout a jungle. Seriously, there was no hair there when I got him! Now he looks like Peter Sellers' and Robin Williams' lovechild.

The plan is to bring out the wax some night when I've got him tied up, thinking he's in for a very different treat. *evil grin*

You're in good company

A mother's life = a dog's life. I reckon that's how it feels for a lot of us.

Ugh, you're so right. It's just endless. Today there are mountains of laundry to get through again. No one but me thinks twice about throwing a shirt worn for one hour into the hamper, and by the time I find it it's ll wrinkled and uggy and DOES need to be washed. *Sigh*

*Hugs you*

I had to laugh when my mother once asked me if "surely you don't do laundry every day". Well, uh, yeah -- two teenagers, school uniforms worn daily, social lives after school ...

Do you maybe feel like you did nothing, because you did nothing new and exciting? You did a lot, but it seems like stuff you do all the time.

Also, any day wherein you don't strange someone stupid, is a good day. Remember that. ;-)

Going through the motions of survival can some times feel like nothing, at least for me.

But, your day is full of caring for others, little acts of love that add up to a very worthy day. Besides, a thousand words ... in one day! ... that's awesome!

::hugs::

you did actual cooking! more than once! which is more than i can say for myself. and you wrote! and cared for people and cats! and did not run over any stupid pedestrians in the grocery store parking lot! which, seriously? some days that's a HUGE accomplishment.

::boggles:: Whew, your sense of doing nothing eclipses my usual day by several factors of some form of factoring. Good grief, you've just put in a full and productive day. Pour a glass of wine and relax. Really.

Hee! Wine. I could almost justify it now. It's Sunday afternoon. *Grin*

1000 words is more than 500 words more than I've written in a month.

Housework and cooking type things are the very devil for being invisible when they're done, because, while they are work and are an achievement, they still need doing some more tomorrow, so they're never *finished*

I misread that as you meditated the cat, which means I now have an image of you being all zen with the kitty.

Ha ha ha, that would be so great! I totally need to meditate the cat. Hee!
