Went outside to shove a stick in the earth and then tie the alarmingly-leaning tomato plant to it. This took about 90 seconds to accomplish. In that 90 seconds, I was bitten by mosquitoes in THREE places. Itch, itch, itch.

Did about ten minutes' worth of editing on the story soft_princess and I have finished. Yay, story finished! Boo, editing! I am so bad at it.

Have finished initial mapping-out of story that janedavitt and I are going to write this summer. (Fanfic, for those of you who might be interested.)

Took the boy to the library for Big Summer Fun. He still prefers me to read to him (although he's quite capable on his own) so we take turns reading pages out loud.

Whatever I ate on Saturday that didn't agree with me is still causing trouble. *Grumble*

It is hot and humid and I don't feel like cooking, but I must. Cooking! Ugh! Okay, okay, here I go.

We love it! I'm just as happy to read to him and let him skip it entirely, but I know it's good practice for him.

I love reading aloud to my students at school. They love it too.

True story. I used to have a group of friends who loved to sit in the back yard in the dark and read scary short stories and novels out loud to each other by flashlight. It was so much fun. I don't have a yard now, but I should find someone who does and start doing it again. It's quite fun!

Why can't we rid the world of mosquitoes? Why? They do nothing for the ecosystem! *cries* Wouldn't it be nice if they were a faint memory, and then we could re-claim the world for a delicious tequila or rum drink?

Actually, out here sometimes I see bats in the evening circling above and looking for mosquitoes to om nom nom. I am thinking of getting a pet bat.
