Bad, bad headache. Owwwwww. Have had a little bit of coffee, didn't help. Had three glasses of water, didn't help. Cold washcloth, no help. Can't take ibuprofen or acetaminophen, too hard on my stomach. Owwwwwww. Any ideas?

Can you make the house silent and dark and lie down? Have you tried an ice pack on your head? Can someone rub your feet or give you a back rub?

Darkness is a good idea, thank you! I did lie in a dark room for a while and it helped. *Hugs*

Cool compress on the back of your neck?

Cool shower? (or, if sinus related, steamy shower)

Sucking on or smelling peppermint?

I tried the compress thing and it was hard to tell if it was helping or not because that was right around the time the headache was kind of, I don't know, cresting, or something. I've never heard the mint idea -- next time I'm going to try it. Thank you!

Lie down in a dark room, shut your eyes and give yourself a temple massage. Sometimes a bit of food helps as well.

If none of the above suggestions provide any relief, you might want to try orgasm. The tightening/releasing of so many muscles is often enough to get the headache gone, and there's also the "blood running away from head, temples no longer pounding" effect. For some, it works. For others, not so much.

I've found that an ice pack can sometimes help me with migraines.

Also, I take sudafed (the real stuff), as my migraines are often related to sinus issues. I'm not sure if that's the case with you, or even if you can take stuff with pseudoefedrine in it.

I can't take decongestants in the evening, they make me totally wired and then I can't sleep, LOL! But sometimes my headaches ARE sinus related, and I don't always remember that. Thank you.

*nods* Sudafed used to do that to me too. Now I guess my body's used to it, because I can take it and go right to bed. Maybe try benadryl or claritin, those always put me to sleep. I'm stuck with pseudofedrine being the only drug that actually helps my sinuses, but maybe yours would respond to something different.

Either way, I hope you're feeling better!

Ice pack on the back of the neck works for me. For really bad headaches I do forehead and back of the neck.

For headaches of no return I drink about a cup of regular coke. I don't like Coke but it does work on bad headaches for me.

You can do a yoga technique and press the front of your head against a wood table.

I did have a little coffee for the caffeine but it didn't seem to help. Thanks for the links!

So there's this pressure point on your hand on the webbing between your thumb and index finger- and if you make an "L" shape with one hand and use your thumb and other index finger to squeeze it (pretty hard) it will help with head aches. Alternate a couple times if need be. I find the best pressing method is to take your index finger and curl it so you use the second knuckle (the one that's actually on your finger) instead of just like, the pad- it works better in combination with the pad of your thumb. Stronger/better pressure.

I will say I've never tried this for splitting head aches because I wind up taking drugs by then, but theoretically it should work.

The orgasm thing was my other suggestion but someone beat me to it.

Good luck honey!! <33

Thank you! The orgasm thing worked, LOL, but I did experiment with the pressure point too and it might have also helped. :-)

*snuggles*

If you poke at your sinuses, you can tell if they're clogged

-there's a notch just under the eyebrow, near the nose
-the other set. Put your thumbs on the high point of your cheek bones and slide them in towards the nose, just under the eyes.

If they're clogged, you'll feel the fluid move - nose might run a bit. If rubbing them eases the pain, than its probalby a sinus headache -- naszl decongestant and/or anti-histmiine will help

It wasn't my sinuses THIS time, but it is plenty of the time and sometimes I forget, so thank you for pointing it out. *Smooch*
