Love the flashback and getting to see very old Torchwood. :-)
I love Tosh getting herself all ready for the day, primping. She's so gorgeous.
Tommy is awesome. I love looking at him, and I love his sense of humor. And he's so earnest.
Gwen: So young.
Ianto: They all were. Nothing changes.
Aw, Tosh and Tommy are playing pool. Or am I supposed to call it billiards because they're in the UK? I've never quite sorted that out.
Ooh, ghosts, yay! I love this explanation for them -- that they're time accidents, little slips of reality from one time into another.
Jack: 1918 this place was full of wounded soldiers.
A million British soldiers killed during the great war.
It's like walking into hell.
Believe me. I was there.
Tommy, you are so sweet and earnest! Telling Tosh you'd do anything for her.
YES. This bit with Gwen seeing the ghost-nurse, and the nurse seeing the ghost-Gwen, is so great.
Love, love, love Tommy calling Tosh a 'daft lass.' Makes me go all melty and I'm not even sure why. Maybe because it sounds so affectionate.
Tommy: Well, we could go back to mine but there's no room for two and it's bloody freezing. LOL!!!
Awwww, Owen telling Tosh he doesn't want her to get hurt. So sweet. I don't think for a second that they'd make a good match -- I don't think Owen is Tosh's type, nor is she his -- but I like him being nice to her. I actually think Ianto would be a better match for Tosh than Owen is, not that I'm interested in seeing Ianto/Tosh at all.
Ianto: Would you go back to yours? If you could?
Jack: Why? Would you miss me?
Ianto: Yup.
Awwwwwwww, smoochies! HOW MUCH DO I LOVE THIS SHOW for giving me canon slash? SO MUCH.
As usual, when time stuff starts to get really wonky, I start to get kind of confused, but I just don't try to make too much sense of it anymore because it makes my brain hurt.
Poor Tommy. Poor Tosh. :-(
The rift key thing is very cool. I want one.
I hope someone will write up a really good essay about the theme of change in this episode, because I would like to read it and I'm not capable of writing it myself!

And Tommy! Her hero, trying to be so brave for her...
I adored that kiss between Ianto and Jack. Loved. It.
And yes, Owen being a pal! That was nice nice.
*hugs them all*

Date: 2008-02-10 04:43 am (UTC)I learned to play pool in a working men's club but, get this, women weren't allowed to play on the snooker table as we 'might rip the cloth'.
What with, my stiletto heels? /sarcasm.

Date: 2008-02-10 05:02 am (UTC)I hope we see more of olde tyme Torchwood. I love anything that shows backstory. That time key was very steampunk Jules Verneish.

Date: 2008-02-10 05:14 am (UTC)I liked this scene, too. I've felt like Owen's been a bit off in these few episodes, but I actually thought this was right in character. Owen knows from dating anachronistic people. After Diane I can really believe that he wouldn't want someone he cares about to have to go through that pain.
