We need a new comforter for our bed and I'm having a hard time finding anything that will do. I'd prefer plain gray, and it needs to be king sized and a practical material, AND some sort of micro-fiber (aka NOT down/feathers, as I'm allergic.) If anyone runs across something like this, let me know? Or if anyone felt like exercising their google-fu, consider yourself challenged! :-)

I'm watching the BBC version of The Chronicles of Narnia because we've had it for ages and I've only ever seen the first film. Mr WG had suggested perhaps we should pass it on to someone else, thus now I must watch it and see if it's worth keeping.

I think I remember this version, though unfortunately ABC (Aus not US) only showed LWW and PC and stopped which I was greatly miffed about

It's not all the books, it's just a few -- The Lion The Witch and the Wardrobe, Prince Caspian, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, and The Silver Chair. They're not bad, but the production quality seems lacking compared to today's modern things.

*gasp* Give away The Chronicles of Narnia?! Noooo! :)

I grew up with them showing for the first time on the Beeb, used to be a favourite afternoon to settle down for a new ep, even if we all had read the books already. At the time the effects were fantastic, especially the puppetry on Aslan, though they probably look a bit dated now. My favourite is Voyage of the Dawn Treader where you get the redemption of an until then a quite bratty character, plus of course you have Tom Baker in the Silver Chair *geeks out*

They do look a bit dated now. I still have to see The Silver Chair, yay for Tom Baker! :-)

Went to Amazon, Home and Garden section, searched on "comforter king gray polyester"

It found this:
http://www.amazon.com/KING-Comforter-black-suede-REVERSIBLE/dp/B000RYIP56/ref=sr_1_1/102-7377911-8336960?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1190039421&sr=1-1
Not bad for $49.99... but act fast, there's only one left :)

I have an IKEA duvet and cover that I adore. I know they have severasl duvet covers in pretty gray patterns.

Sorry, couldn't help giving links. The quilts are here and the covers are here. There are lots of options: colors, weights, materials, etc.

I've never ordered from them, but The Company Store always seems to have a huge range of comforters/quilts/pillows with alternative-to-down filling. Their stuff comes in different weights (for different seasons), and though the initial prices seem a big high to me, they often have sales and clearance items.

Thanks! I think I've seen their catalogs at my mom's house, but I'd forgotten about the name entirely. :-)

I got my comforter (well, my heavy-warm one anyway) from Ikea. With them, you buy a separate cover for it so you can get whatever color you want. Personally, mine's bright oranges, reds, and pinks to keep me cheery in the winter.

(Hamster so cute OMG!) Thanks! You're the second person to suggest Ikea so I'll definitely check them out.

If you haven't already bought something, amazon has a gold box special on a quilt set today. It's not gray, but it's pretty cheap with free shipping. It's here.
