I went out to do some errands this morning. I went to Bed Bath & Beyond to look for cereal bowls and a mattress pad. No luck -- I need cereal bowls that will stack with the ones we already have, and most of what BB&B had was either whole sets of dishes or strange bowls with tuliped edges, and the mattress pads didn't work for me -- they were either too cheap ie quality or too expensive ie price. I'll have to keep my eyes open for a sale but our current mattress pad is both cheap (quality) and I think it shrunk because it won't stay on the freaking mattress and I'm sick of adjusting it. Went to the Salvation Army store, where I also looked for cereal bowls but didn't find any. I did get three pairs of school slacks for the boy, one that will fit him now and two that will either fit him in the spring or next fall depending on how fast he grows. I also got him a long-sleeved Pokemon t-shirt -- not in the best condition, but he won't care -- and a Pokemon videotape of the 4th movie -- all for less than $10. Then I stopped at the auto store and bought a replacement bulb for my third brake light (the one in the rear window.) After I put it in the warning "brake lamp" light on the dashboard stopped being on, so hopefully that's taken care of although I can't tell for sure because I can't SEE the rear brake light and step on the brake pedal at the same time -- I had to get Mr WG to help me figure out which light was out in the first place.

So now it's 11:30 and I haven't even started working on my 2000 words for the day, which is bad because it's been taking me pretty much the whole 7 hours the boy is gone at school to write them (with breaks for food and chores etc.)

My Jeremiah S2 DVDs came today!!! I'm really looking forward to watching them. Am currently watching the last disc of Veronica Mars S1.

Check at overstock.com for a mattress pad. I got this one that I absolutely adore. It's go plenty of poof too it and doesn't move around or slip off. I've been using it for about a month and it's still got plenty of loft too it.

i'd suggest ikea for the bowls, because you can get them separately and they're simple and not expensive, but that's kind of a trek for you.... also, what exactly is jeremiah about? (besides luke perry. :D ) it's post-apocalypse, right? is it worth renting? i don't have netflix so i'd be visiting blockbuster or somewhere.

It's post-apoc where a disease killed everyone over the age of puberty. There's a whole post-govt conspiracy thing sort of like X-Files (but with biological weapons instead of aliens) and all these people trying to survive. Some of them are trying to put society back together, but mostly not. It's definitely worth renting. You should come up some time and see the first couple of eps with me if you want! That way you'd get an idea of whether it's your kind of thing or not. It's not the bestest show evah, but it's good.

i can bring sushi! :D

the "everyone dead over the age of puberty" sounds like an excuse to have a bunch of young actors on the show, but about ten or fifteen years after the disease hits, that would be really interesting to see. imagine being twelve and having to help put the world back together. neat.

Yeah, that's what it is, it's quite a few years after all the adults died so there are all these young adults, some of them having kids of their own. It's a neat idea and, you know, Luke Perry's not hard on the eyes. LOL! You should definitely come up some time. *Smooch*

I say you should be able to count all the words you just typed in this post toward your 2000 - they're words, right? ;-)

Ikea is good if you've got one near. Linen's and things has some nice stoneware bowls that they sell open stock. If you can find their clearnance shelf for the kitchen stuff, you can sometimes get good deals :-)

Up in IRC for Bones if you're interested
