I woke up at 5 am and couldn't go back to sleep. I've already make caramel glaze for the Caramel Apple Cake and put together the birthday cake. The boy is currently making the chocolate frosting for the birthday cake (he has a big bowl of sifted icing sugar and is adding it one scoop at a time to the mixer, then turning the mixer on, rinse, repeat.) There is icing all over the countertop and floor, but it's just joining the collection of cake crumbs so I can't be bothered to care.

I really, really need more coffee.

We saw I, Robot the other night and I actually really liked it. I didn't expect to. I know (from being told) that it has basically nothing to do with the story, but since I haven't read the story, I don't care.

*Goes to supervise frosting-making*

I loved baking with my mom as a child. Think I may need to bake today as well, but I won't let Malkav run the mixer. It would be tough, as he has no opposable thumbs...
