green and blacks dark chocolate with cherries. mmmmmm. Or the dark with ginger - that would be perfect right about now.

For me, hazelnuts in dark chocolate would probably tie for honors.

Darn! I knew I was going to forget some, and I was already at the maximum number of boxes it would let me have. Darned polls.

My preferred kind of chocolate is the Fair Trade Camino milk chocolate. It tastes like *chocolate* and not like sugar. It's delicious. I think it's high end chocolate.

I LOVE expensive, high quality chocolate of any kind - truffles or anything where the chocolate is goooood.

And chocolate with raisins and hazelnuts, MMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Man, I really just love chocolate. I tried to restrain myself but most of me just said 'yes' to every ticky box.

Why is there no ticky box just for 'yes'? ;)

chocolate with mint, dark chocolate with almonds, milk chocolate with caramel, white chocolate with cranberries.

Or you know. Any form of chocolate what doesn't have peanuts or raisins involved.

milk chocolate starfish with raspberry filling, from Godiva. But otherwise, just regular milk chocolate. Or, you know, anything with carmel is good. *is* there a bad chocolate?

Touch my Godiva starfish and you will pull back a bloody stump!

*is* there a bad chocolate?

Oh, god, yes, unfortunately yes. And when you find it, it's like God's own punishment.

Fortunately, "bad" chocolate tends to be very rare and different for everyone. So most people never have to endure it. ::--> had an encounter with the chocolate-dipped ginger she doesn't want to talk about::

Chocolate with almonds! Especially the Pound-plus dark Belfian chocolate with almonds and darker-than-milk Chocolate Almond Clusters, from Trader Joes! And dark chocolate covered ginger, also from TJ's, although the Dilantante stuff is better, and about ten times more expensive. And York peppermint patties!

Julia, who cannot, strictly speaking, eat any of those things, and is speaking hypothetically, of course

i checked every single box except white chocolate and chocolate ice cream. (i like chocolate IN my ice cream more than chocolate ice cream.... unless the chocolate ice cream has peanutbutter. go fig.) also chocolate with mint, chocolate with fruit besides raisins, chocolate with toffee, chocolate with other chocolate (like dark and milk together), and chocolate with marzipan. and chocolate mice, which are a category unto themselves. :>

and yesterday in the grocery store i resisted mightily the green & black's with hazelnuts and currants, but it was a struggle....

Pointless??? This is not pointless!

This is ... c h o c o l a t e ... mmmmmmm.

Although I'm afraid I've skewed the results as well, ticking off all but 4 boxes. Imagine that! A chocolate I *don't* like!

The other one not on your poll is chocolate fondue which I have made. Wonderful, dipping fresh fruit in.

Now, can you imagine the *silent* scream I made when my doctor said I had to CUT OUT chocolate!!!!! Well, I was mostly good, but will still have the occasional ittybitsybit.

Chocolatyliscious hugs,
H.

Chocolate with a fondant filling, hm-mm... Seasonal treat that I need to take care not to over-indulge in.

But for some reason chocolate ice cream makes me nauseous. Go figure. Not too fond of chocolate sauce either.

Hee! I was raised in a household without chocolate and never really acquired the intense cravings for it that so many people I know get. But the occational totally divine truffle, etc is amazing. I make it a point to buy myself really nice chocolate totally randomly - I think it's more fun that way than on special occations. Plus both the boi and the girl are big sweettooths, so if they get it for me for an occation they will just end up eating it all. *grins*

I went for only the chocolate I would kill for. Dark plain, truffles, chocolate with caramel. Also love brownies, with NO nuts, and chocolate with peanut butter (I've been known to dip a dark chocolate bar into the peanut butter jar). I'll eat milk chocolate, but much prefer dark, and am addicted to See's ginger chocolates, and Dagoba's dark chocolate with chile peppers in it. (thanks, [livejournal.com profile] petal_n_thorn!

Funnily, chocolate with nuts is my favourite, but chocolate with fruit/raisins is the one kind of chocolate I'll actually turn down.

What kind of chocolate do you prefer?

Ahem. Allow me to paraphrase Sandra Boynton, author of Chocolate: The Consuming Passion (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0894801996/102-1940288-1374516?v=glance&n=283155&s=books&v=glance).

The only proper response to that question is, "OH YES, PLEASE!!!!!"

Note to self: get some Boynton icons.

I also like chocolate with a mint center sometimes.

I like chocolate with the various kinds of crunchies, too, but not enough to click for "favorite".

I actually prefer Hersheys/Nestles to Godiva. I don't like Godiva very much.

I like white chocolate, even though it's not really chocolate. And white chocolate covered pretzels, mmmm.

Chocolate with little bits of cocoa bean in/on it.

Mocha flavored chocolate. Or chocolate mocha (that's the coffee).

I prefer dark chocolate to milk chocolate, but milk chocolate is good too. I don't like dark chocolate that's too sweet, though.

The higher the percent of cocoa beans, the better.

Usually I get chocolate (when I'm allowing myself any at all) from Whole Foods. Brazillian chocolate is very good.

There's a gourmet shop in the suburbs here that has sugar-free chocolate. I have to find out from the friend who let me try it where the shop is (I forgot the location she told me), but it was very good.

And in summation ... *chocolate*!!!

Tied for first place are dark chocolate covered cherries and dark chocolate mint patties from Krauses's, the local candy company.

Second choice is plain dark chocolate.

Third choice is anything else involving chocolate and mint.

As my email signature says: "Chocolate by itself is proof that God exists. Chocolate combined with peanut butter, cherries, or mint is proof that God loves us. Chocolate liqueurs are proof that God is female."
