Poll, and stuff

Ew. There was a teensy tinsy dead fly on my keyboard.
Which reminds me of the time I saw a little green bug in the bathroom and squished it just as my brain thought "Gee, that looks kind of like a praying mantis." And it was, and I smooshed it. Actually, it wasn't dead, it was still alive, but I probably hurt it. Poor thing. Those bugs are cool.
And I read a thing today about cooking lobsters, and now I want lobster. I really don't like the idea of killing one though. Once I bought one and brought it home and put it on the kitchen floor and let the cats examine it. They were fascinated.
Then Mr WG and I experimented with putting various things in the lobster's claw so it could 'hold' them. Like a pencil and a chopstick. It was really funny.
Then I boiled the lobster alive and ate it. I know. I'm horrible. I do feel guilty about it, if it's any consolation.
Oh, and I read a thing about some place that makes lobster ice cream. Which just sounds like the most vile thing ever.
I took the boy to the local water park today. It's a regular park with swings and slides and stuff, but then there's a section with painted concrete and lots of sprinklers and jets of water that come shooting up. The kids love it. Well, when they're not smashing into each other or falling down on the slippery concrete. (It's actually not as bad as it sounds. Considering the number of kids running around like psychos, there are few spills.)
Last night, as soon as the boy went to bed, I got in the car and drove to the supermarket. I suppose this will only be impressive if you know that I virtually never leave the house after dark. Then I bought ice cream, hot fudge sauce, and whipped cream, none of which I should have, and brought it home and ate it. And it was yummy.
Today,
janedavitt and I finished the 2nd draft of ep 18 of No Limits. Yay us! I have to admit that I've kind of lost track of the schedule, but I think we're still fairly on time.
Also today,
flaming_muse and I finished the Angel/Wes story we started shortly after finishing
reality_bends Go us! It's about 111K words and still needs to be ruthlessly edited and then beta'ed, but we're done!
Here's the poll:
[Poll #548892]
I'm mostly curious because I have it in my head that most people use a client, whereas I've always just used the website interface, mostly because I'm lazy. I do have a client downloaded, but I've used it very few times.

Date: 2005-08-10 02:02 am (UTC)As for the posting to LJ, I've done all three, but the email method worked well one time and then failed the next few times. I may attempt it again tomorrow, just to see, now that your poll has reminded me.

Date: 2005-08-10 02:11 am (UTC)I don't know that I like the client that much better, but I started using it within a few days of getting my journal, and so it's what I'm used to.

Date: 2005-08-10 02:11 am (UTC)July E-mail posts - 7 out of 37
June E-mail posts - 12 out of 40
I post about 25% of the time via e-mail and the other 75% via client. The e-mail posts are from work and mostly because I can't get to LJ any other way.

Date: 2005-08-10 08:58 am (UTC)He replied that you can't do that as they are "semi-liquid" inside! Squiiiiiick! Needless to say I will continue not to eat lobster with much greater vigour. EWWWWW!
He has also bought a radio that looks like a giant bug for our bathroom. It sticks to the wall and whenever I go in in the night it catches my eye and scares the everloving crap out of me. It's been a buggy icky week really... *g*

Date: 2005-08-10 04:48 pm (UTC)I'm a total hypocrite, myself: I love lobster, but I'll only eat it if someone else is willing to cook it. I once drove from Maine to Massachusetts with a package of live lobsters on the car floor, but my mother had to cook them for us.

Date: 2005-08-10 12:48 pm (UTC)BTW, I found your comment about not leaving the house after dark amusing. I didn't know you had a pesky vampire problem in your neighbourhood!
::cackling away:: Yes, I know I'm evil - but only with people I really like.
Hugs,
H.
