20. Affinity by Sarah Waters. I didn't like this nearly as much as Fingersmith or Tipping the Velvet, or as much as I liked the movie. It was okay. I actually expected to love it because of the 'supernatural' element, but turns out not so much.
21. Food Lovers' Guide to Massachusetts by Patricia Harris and David Lyon. Okay, but glad I borrowed it from the library instead of buying it!
22. Stir-Fry: A Novel by Emma Donoghue. Very good. I wasn't a fan of her book of fairy-tale based short stories, but I loved Landing and this book.
23. Almost Perfect by Brian Katcher. Wonderful young adult book about a high school boy who falls for a girl who turns out to be transgendered.

Date: 2011-03-21 07:04 pm (UTC)I looooove Stir-Fry. Love it. I can't remember if I've given you this recommendation/anti-rec before, but Hood is good though much sadder than Stir-Fry and Slammerkin is really, really grim and violent and dark and violent and depressing.

The last one sounds intriguing. Let's see if I can order it via my local publishing house...
