I don't know if it's common here. The US is big enough that living in other parts of the country can be like living in another country entirely. But I can understand it being a thing people do. Where I live death tends to be treated very clinically and I think other ways can be better, honestly. Thanks for sharing, and I'm glad you liked the story. *Hugs*
