I liked the book because we have Rambo-the-vet who's fresh out of the war, coming home to see his friend who, he finds out, is dead. This is hard on him, and then he's harassed by the local cops and suddenly he just...flips. Crazy-insane Vietnam *war* vet? One of my bulletproof kinks. So the book rocked 'cause i got to read about Rambo goin' all ninja on the cops and stuff.
The movie was...eh. Okay, but not as good. Any sequels i totally ignored.
I don't mind war movies if they're not too...i dunno. I can watch, say, Saving Private Ryan. It's angsty and sad but has a good, solid bit of hope in the end.
I *cannot* watch something like Schindler's List. It just fucking hurts too much. Those poor people...
