A few things...

I always feel like the last person to find out about anything, but I wanted to point out TV Tropes to anyone who hadn't already wasted tons of time there. I think kurukami first mentioned it to me, and then lucifrix talked about it and I've spent ages messing around on the site. It's one of those sites where you click on "just one more link" about a hundred times. What a lovely time-suck!

Also lucifrix's fault, she pointed me toward this website, which will MELT YOUR BRAIN. Seriously, it might be the worst website ever. Is it meant, like, ironically or something? One has to hope so... Yvette's Bridal Formal. Run screaming in fear!
