Thinking about tattoos
Jul. 11th, 2008 08:07 pmI'd really like to get a new tattoo. I'm torn between getting something pride-related (some symbol that's meaningful to mean, done in rainbow colors, probably) or getting some kind of quote. I was poking around online looking at photos of other people's tattoos, and the idea of getting WORDS tattooed on hit me, like getting hit with a huge bus you'd seen barreling toward you and yet somehow had managed not to register. It was kind of a shock that I'd never considered it before.
Anyway, I found this page of pride tattoos:
http://www.outsidethelines.biz/pridetats.html
If you look a little more than halfway down the page, in the center column, there's a photo of a woman's foot (in a black strapped flip-flop) with a rainbow row of stars along her foot. Underneath it, there's a quote explaining that the woman who owns the foot (and tattoo!) isn't gay, but that her uncle is and she got the tattoo in support of him and his partner - "So I got this for Rodney and John, my uncles." Yay!
