Beef recall, vegetarianism, stuff.

We eat a lot less beef now than we used to. For the most part we eat veggie burgers, and when we do buy beef it's vegetarian-fed organic from Whole Foods or a small local butcher shop. But we eat pre-made meatballs occasionally -- usually turkey, but there's a half-empty package of beef ones in the freezer. And sometimes we eat red meat if we're out at a restaurant.
Basically, this has got me thinking that we could do better. Part of me would like to go back to being a vegetarian again, but it seems like there's always some excuse. I like the taste of meat. Reading labels for trace ingredients is too much work. I run the fine line of being anemic and there are times of the month when an organic burger or some shrimp seems to make a big difference in the way I feel.
I was a vegetarian for a few years after I read The Food Revolution by John Robbins. Maybe I should read it again. Anyone else out there who's been a vegetarian on again off again?
