Today I decided to tackle my most recent upswing of rosacea by going to the drug store and spending money. Well, first I went to the bank, and then the library, but then I went to CVS and bought Eucerin Redness Relief in a little sample sized kit. Came home and did a little research, only to discover that several of the products in this line include ingredients that are REALLY not recommended for people with rosacea. So I went BACK to CVS (and yes, this is a typical pattern for me when buying stuff, which is why shopping is not high on my list of Fun Things To Do) and exchanged the Eucerin kit for a Cetaphil Gentle Cleansing bar and a homeopathic sulfur-based facial gel called Prosacea (both of which ARE recommended for people with rosacea, and sulfur is one of the ingredients in the prescription medications for rosacea.) So I'll give those a try. I also bought a compact of some of that blocky-colored mineral-type makeup in green shades that's meant to lessen the appearance of redness. It cost MUCH more than I usually spend on makeup (because I so rarely wear any) but it makes SENSE that it should help. Right? *Sighs* I'm also going to try to drink 10-12 glasses of water each day, because that's also supposed to help.

I'm 26k words into the original slash fic (is it lame to call it slash instead of m/m erotica? I like the term 'slash') I've been working on, but I've done nothing on it in at least a week. I really hate that I get almost-to-the-end of stories and then hit this wall. It really stinks.

The cat is mad because I threw away the plastic bag the stuff from CVS came in before she could make love to it. No, seriously. She nuzzles the plastic bags and then licks them until we take them away from her. She keeps jumping up onto the little telephone table (where we usually put stuff as we come in the door) and looking for the bag that she knows should be there. *Feels no sympathy*

•I have a ham bone (with a bunch of sliced ham still attached to it) in the freezer. I'd like to make a lentil type soup with it tomorrow. I have onions and carrots etc. I'm fine with the wing-it method of soup making -- the part I'm unsure about is what to do with the big block of frozen ham. Do I simmer it in water on its own for a while (until it thaws) then take it out and hack the actual meat off the bone and cut it into smaller bits? How do I deal with all the bits of fat that will inevitably be floating around in the... broth? When do I put the other ingredients in? Help!!

•I also have about 1/4 cup of heavy cream that's on the verge of needing to get poured down the sink. (It still smells fine now.) Is there anything I can do with it tomorrow that doesn't require any fancy ingredients but will save it from being trashed? Something with egg, maybe, like a breakfast dish? Any ideas?
