Corn is evil.
Jan. 5th, 2007 12:06 pmI ate some Doritos, knowing that I probably shouldn't, and now my acid reflux is like whoa. Stupid corn. I LIKE corn. Why do I have to have a sensitivity to it? Why can't I have a sensitivity to something I don't like, like cauliflower? Hrmph. Weirdly, though, on New Year's Eve we had some taquitos, which were made with corn tortillas, and they didn't seem to bother me. Nacho made with corn tortilla chips definitely do. And now I know for sure that Doritos are the same way (which makes sense, since I think they're just corn tortilla chips with some powder on the outside.)
Our tax forms have started to arrive in the mail. Joy.
The cats both seem to be doing pretty well. (Genuine) joy. :-)
The boy's cough is greatly improved, and mine is nearly gone. I really, really hope we can go at least a month until our next cold!
The weather is freakishly warm. I am not complaining about this, although I'm concerned about the big picture obviously.
Last night, I dreamed that my nephew died, and woke up without remembering the dream but feeling very upset. I didn't remember the dream until later on. (He's hanging in there, btw, doing fairly well. He's getting alternative treatment because the traditional treatment for his condition is very unlikely to do more than delay the inevitable. The long term prognosis is still exceedingly poor, but we're grateful for all the extra time we're enjoying with him and faintly hopeful that he could be the exception to the rule.)
