Magic Eraser etc

I don't see a lot of discussion about the wonders of Mr Clean's Magic Eraser (or the similar 3M Scotchbrite Easy Eraser) on LJ and I've never used it myself, but I saw this on another site and thought it was worth repeating in case people here are fond of it as a cleaning product. Turns out these products contain a harmful alkaline that can cause chemical burns to one's skin. (This is a story written by a mom whose 5 year old was "helping" by cleaning with one of the erasers and suffered burns to his face. There's a photo of his face the day after the incident and it's not pleasant to look at -- like a very deep sunburn on his cheeks and chin, the poor little guy.)

Anyway, just figured it couldn't hurt to pass this info on.
