Um... door insulation thing?

So I can't google for this thing because I don't know what it's called.

It's made mostly from fabric. It's two long sock things that go along the bottom of your door, on either side of the door, to keep the cold out. I think the two long socks are attached in the middle by a thin strip of the same fabric. Does that make any sense at all? I've seen them for sale SOMEWHERE (like, an ad, maybe on TV) but Mr WG says he will make one for the door between the kitchen and the mudroom, so I wanted to look for directions on how to make one online, but I don't know what the bloody thing is called! Hopefully it will sound familiar to someone on my wonderful f-list (or to someone wandering by)!

*Crosses fingers*

In Britain it's called a draft excluder.

I've heard them called draft dodgers, or draft stoppers.

Here are some instructions for making one mostly from stuff around the house.

Yeah, draft dodger is the only thing I've heard them called, but then I never knew what they were called either until I heard that. :D

My MiL has one of these (called a draft stopper), and she swears by it. We'd bought her some of the regular ones (just lies along the inside of the door) last year, but she says the new two-sided one works so much better. I can't think it would be too hard to make for someone as crafty as Mr WG!

I'm no help. I have them, but my landlady calls them draft stoppers. That doesn't sound too official to me.

draft excluder, or the single sided version's often called a door snake. (the ones that sit both sides of the door and slide with it when it opens and shuts seem so much more practical than the one sided ones that you have to arrange every time you come into a room.
