I'm full of questions tonight! Re: Podfic

I've discovered I can record my own voice on iMovie. I can then save the file as a .mov and it will play in QuickTime Player. But, because iMovie is trying to save the file as a "movie" and not just an audio file, when it plays back it opens as a black box (where the video would play, if there was video.) Is there a way to change a .mov file into an MP3 or something similar? (I'm assuming that the file ends up bigger than it needs to be, too, because of the black screen thing, although I could be wrong on that front.) Can anyone help? Small words are probably called for, LOL.

I'm on a Mac, FYI, in case that wasn't obvious from the iMovie thing.

Do you have quicktime pro? I think that might be your best best for recording audio. How much does that cost these days? I didn't upgrade when I moved iBook *sigh* Now Audio Hijack might also be able to help you - that makes .aiff files that import into iTunes and then iTunes converts that to mp3. But you have to quit the program every 10 minutes if you don't want to pay for the registered version... it launches hiss to corrupt sound after 10 mins which is fine if you're grabbing one song but not much else.

A quick google and I'd say you actually need Audio X (http://www.realmacsoftware.com/)

Let me know how it goes.
