lj_biz community) that they're now going to be using Omniture SiteCatalyst "on a very small random sampling (about 5%) of journals and communities" to "collect information that's pretty straightforward, including what browser you're using, what site scheme you use, your window size, how people travel through the site (what are the common links, where are people going after viewing their friends page, what people are or aren't clicking on), and things like how many page views different parts of the site get." You can read more about it in that post. It's an opt-OUT sort of thing -- if you'd like to opt-out, cluegirl has info about how to do so here.
• Astaffimai and justhuman and others have posted about, it's still legal in 31 states in the US to fire someone because they're gay. The Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) is a federal bill that would make it illegal to fire, refuse to hire, or refuse to promote employees simply based on sexual orientation or gender identity. If you're a US resident and think that would be a good thing, please take action today. ENDA is going up for a vote in the House on Monday and the religious right is mobilized to oppose it. Go to the HRC ENDA Action Page to send a message to your representative.
