*Blinking and in need of caffeine*

Yesterday I had a root canal. Whee. I suspect it's the first of two I'm going to need, but we won't make that call until this one's had a chance to heal up, get a permanent filling, etc.

What I've been watching -- Atlantis started up again, hooray! I'm so happy about this, and really looking forward to the rest of S3 (which I am unspoiled for, so please not to be spoiling me!) I loved seeing the team on screen again, even though the crossover with SG1 stuff never does as much for me as JUST having the Atlantis characters in an episode. Still, I liked it. :-)

Is there new Supernatural this week?

I saw the first three episodes of Drive, and while it's not my kind of show in general and I doubt if it's going to be something I'll be fannish about, I've enjoyed the time that Nathan Fillion and Melanie Lynskey are on screen.

Mr WG and I are currently watching Freak and Geeks from Netflix and really liking it a lot.

I saw Elizabethtown last night (borrowed it from the library) and I'm glad I didn't waste a Netflix slot on it, LOL. It was mediocre at best, despite the nice soundtrack and the prettiness of Orlando Bloom. Overall, the plot didn't do much for me and I never felt emotionally invested in the characters.

We're still watching The Riches but our interest is waning. It's a very well-made show but I for one am finding it a little too uncomfortable to watch these characters that I like go through so much hardship and emotional trauma. A little too much hurt and not enough comfort for me, I guess.

I'm also still watching Blood Ties, and still liking it. It'll never be THE BEST TV EVER OMG, but there are supernatural elements and a strong female character and the constant tease of deliciously complicated romance, and that's probably enough to keep me watching despite the fact that I really prefer shows that I watch to be in the 8 or 9 pm timeslots (by the 10-11 slot I'm often running out of steam.) I love the actors, though.

The boy discovered the joy of Webkinz at the library yesterday (they got an account there so kids can play) and now he'd like one of his own. Part of today's quest may be trying to find one.

Superntural is new this week and should continue to be new right up until the finale on May 17th.

Yay yay yay! (Except for the part about the finale because I don't want S2 to be over!) Thank you.

Yes, exactly! :)

I always want to love the SGA/SG-1 crossovers more than I do (though I unabashedly loved SG-1's "The Pegasus Project"), but fanfic authors tend to give me far more satisfying crossover stories than the actual writers do. Hmm, I wonder if I like TPP so much because it feels like the SG-1 writers were writing fanfic for SGA... Anyway.

How's your mouth feeling today? You've been so abused, you poor thing!

[identity profile] wesleysgirl.livejournal.com 2007-04-18 12:56 pm (UTC)(link)
The upper tooth (the one that the dentists are still insisting isn't hurting, that it was just deferred pain from elsewhere) is aching, and my jaw is all locked up (not atypical for me, although it's worse than usual probably because the root canal took so much longer than a regular filling) and I'm sore, but overall not too bad. I'm pretty sure I've used up my dental insurance cap for the year already, so if I can put off getting the other root canal (if I need it) until next year that would be good. That tooth has been aching for like two years or more so I can probably handle it for longer if it doesn't get worse. Although the thought of not having a hurting mouth at all is so tempting... I took the second to last anti-inflammatory pill this morning, I still have one Vicodin left, and about 10 tramadol, so hopefully that will get me through until things settle down.

Which one is The Pegasus Project? I don't know if I've seen it.

*petpetpet* I'm all for you being pain-free, but I can understand not wanting to pay for more dental work. It's just unlikely to get better on its own, you know?

The Pegasus Project is SG-1 10x3, where SG-1 (well, Daniel, Cam, and Carter, anyway) go to Atlantis to try to get some information for stuff going on in our own galaxy. There's lots of fun interaction, especially with John and Rodney.

[identity profile] wesleysgirl.livejournal.com 2007-04-18 01:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Hm. Maybe I *did* see that one. LOL!

[identity profile] katestamps.livejournal.com 2007-04-20 03:27 pm (UTC)(link)
I love that one!! If you're current you've seen it, since last week's built heavily on it. Friending you, if that's ok. (Look, I finally got a livejournal...only took me 3 years!)

Oh! I hope your tooth issues have a painless (and quick) resolution!!

Jane got me to buy a Webkinz for my two nieces at Christmas and they fell in love!! Addicitive little things, eh? ;)

And I'm with you on watching Nathan Fillion... he gets beaten down so very prettily.

[identity profile] wesleysgirl.livejournal.com 2007-04-18 01:12 pm (UTC)(link)
I've called a few places so far and haven't been able to find any darned Webkinz, LOL. I could order one from Amazon but being able to get one at a store would be so much easier...

[identity profile] janedavitt.livejournal.com 2007-04-18 03:14 pm (UTC)(link)
They are huge now, Marguerite; tried to get one last week and five stores in Cambridge were all sold out and gave me a hollow laugh when I asked what they had.

Yeah, I'm with you on not BEST TV EVER but still fun and the three leads are doing a nice job with the UST. I'm looking forward to the second part of last week's story.

Sending along good dental vibes as well, I'm going for 4 caps next month. Ouch.

[identity profile] wesleysgirl.livejournal.com 2007-04-18 01:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, me too! I hadn't been watching the clock and I was surprised when the ep ended, LOL. I was all, "Wait. What?"

*Hugs* on the dental work. If it's any consolation, the root canal, while lengthy and a little uncomfortable, was NOT painful.

[identity profile] cafedemonde.livejournal.com 2007-04-18 02:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Ugh...I had a root canal two weeks ago.

*feels for you*

[identity profile] wesleysgirl.livejournal.com 2007-04-19 12:33 am (UTC)(link)
Not fun, are they? *Hugs*

[identity profile] janedavitt.livejournal.com 2007-04-18 03:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Hope the tooth is better :;snuggles::

Webkinz! OMG, run, run! ::g::

We have about twenty in the house...the girls are both obsessed by them.

They are so hard to get right now; i was shopping for one last week for a birthday present and five shops were sold out so I gave up.

Amazon sell them, though.

[identity profile] wesleysgirl.livejournal.com 2007-04-18 03:18 pm (UTC)(link)
I phoned four places this morning and they were all sold out. *Sigh* Maybe he'll forget about them and we can get him one by the time his birthday rolls around in August, LOL.

[identity profile] luvs-phoenix.livejournal.com 2007-04-18 04:26 pm (UTC)(link)
I soooooo miss reading your lj luv. I'm gonna try harder to come on over.

((hugs)) root canals suck.

I also get to watch Atlantis as Matt's a si-fi freak. Other than that I'm falling behind because he insists on watching stuff I don't.

Blah.

Good think I can download or I'd fall terribly behind in everything. Hero's comes back on Monday and he is SO going to get into it so I can watch, LOL.

*kissage*

[identity profile] wesleysgirl.livejournal.com 2007-04-19 12:33 am (UTC)(link)
*Hugs you so much* I'm sure we can find places for you to download stuff you've missed out on, so don't fret about it too much! *Kisses*

Yikes. Here's hoping this helps!
