Question!

Answer quickly!

I ordered a video game for my niece for Christmas. It is now the Amazon Gold Box deal (for an hour) and $17 cheaper. I could order the current less expensive version and return the more expensive one when it arrived, couldn't I? Should I bother? I'll have to pay to return the more expensive one, plus I'll have to actually go to the post office etc to do it. It might be too much trouble. But... $17.

ETA - I decided to order the cheaper version and return the more expensive one. Thanks!

Did you buy the earlier one from Amazon, too? If so, you could call Amazon and see if they'd just refund the difference to you. It is technically their policy not to do this, but if you strike the right tone and get a helpful CS rep, you may succeed. I know someone who managed it last week.

I ordered the super discount deal one.

I did buy the earlier one from Amazon, too, and this was really good advice! I did call, because it would make so much more sense for them to just refund the difference instead of having to mail me a second one etc, but the cs rep I talked with said no, she can't do that, the only way to do it is to send back the first one when it arrives. So that's what I'm going to do, I guess. *Sigh* It's really a pain in the arse but I suppose it's worth it considering it's $17 and not, like, $4.
