Movie: Disco Pigs, an Irish independent movie about an extremely (too?) close friendship that goes wrong when one of them falls for the other as teenagers.

TV show: Dead Like Me or At Home With the Braithwaites, if you have access to it. It's a British TV show about a family that wins the lottery.

Ooh, I hadn't heard of Disco Pigs or the Braithwaiters, and they both sound interesting! I've seen Dead Like Me and love love love it. :-) Thanks!

Disco Pigs is my favourite movie and it made me realise that I have a 'thing' for similarly themed movies of dependent friendships where the relationship changes and things go to hell. I've found a few and Me Without You is another very good one.

I did see Me Without You, and I liked it but didn't love it. I'm not sure why. I just recently saw All Over Me -- similar but not identical theme -- and that one was very good.
