Just in case you were wondering!

Commercials often make me INSANE. There is currently a Nutrisystem ad on with a woman who is saying "I lost 28 pounds!" Yeah, and now she looks so PAINFULLY thin that it's hard to imagine she was overweight 28 pounds ago. This is the time of year for weight loss ads, I suppose. (They aren't the only ones that make me insane, though, if that's any reassurance.)

I've set a writing goal for myself for the year. 150k words, which sounds like a terrifying amount but breaks down to 600 words a day, M-F, 50 out of 52 weeks. And 600 words a day doesn't sound nearly as terrifying, and definitely possible. I'd also like to complete two novels. So that's my goal. So far today I'm at 477 words.

Yesterday, I wrote quick-fic! McKay/Sheppard, 771 words over at [livejournal.com profile] mcsmooch. Worth It.

I like the commercial for the diet pill where the woman is All Serious and says "this is TOO POWERFUL if all you want to lose is five or ten vanity pounds."

Yeah, like they aren't try to sell it to those people, too...

And, of course, by "like" I mean "think is stupid."

I know what commercial you're talking about! I hate that one and how she's all "I can wear a swimsuit without feeling embarassed." Gahhh. 28 pounds seriously?

There used to be one for a gym, I think it was, and the woman looked so much more attractive in the "before" pictures. In the "after" she was gaunt and sinewy and didn't have an ounce of fat on her body, just muscle. Ewwww! Women need a little cushioning, even when they're physically fit.

I want to lose some weight, true, but I still want to maintain a little jiggle. :-)

Yes! I saw an ad in a psychology magazine where the women were size 8/10 "before" and size 2 "after." Seriously??? Unless you're VERY short, a size 8/10 is perfectly reasonable and doesn't REQUIRE diet pills. Sheesh.

I would be thrilled to fit into a size 12 without having to suck in my gut!
